With a capacity of 120 beds, Chrispod Hospital and Diagnostic Center is fully equipped with facilities including Operating Theaters, state-of-the-art Laboratories and provides modern radiology services such as CT Scan, MRI, Mammography etc. While the provision of healthcare is widely recognized as the responsibility of government, private sector capital and expertise are also viewed as essential resources for increasing efficiency, expanding access to services and introducing innovative technologies. Our Laboratory Services provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic testing, clinical and consultative services. These cover medically necessary clinical diagnostic services that are ordered by our doctors or other practitioners. Laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, tests on tissue specimens and screening tests. These testing services provide support to clinicians in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease.

CHDC Pharmaceutical Care is a patient-centered, outcome-oriented pharmacy practice that requires the pharmacist to work in concert with the patient and the patient's other healthcare providers to promote good health, prevent disease and to assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use to ensure that drug therapy regimens are safe and effective. The goal of CHDC Pharmaceutical Care is to optimize the patient's health-related quality of life and achieve positive clinical outcomes, within realistic economic expenditures. To this end, CHDC has put up an ultra-modern edifice to be used to serve this purpose.

CHDC operates a 120-bed capacity General Hospital, Diagnostic Unit, Radiography Unit, a Pharmacy, as well as a 30-body capacity mortuary with a core staff strength comprising ten (10) nurses and three (3) doctors and four (4) radiographers. This core staff will be assisted by able auxiliary staff to help achieve the vision of the hospital.

Dr. Kamal Walid Amer is an ENT Specialist. He is an Otolaryngologist who will be diagnosing and treating Ear, Nose and Throat diseases and performing surgeries related to his speciality. He is trained in the Medical and Surgical treatment of Hearing Loss, Ear Infections, Balance Disorders and Ear Noises. He has 5 years of work experience in several clinics and hospitals in his home country as well as other countries.

Our Team

Mr. Christian Kpodo is a high-net-worth individual and successful entrepreneur. He has over 40 years of entrepreneurial experience across the Globe, having worked in various technical capacities in the United Kingdom and Ghana. He currently manages and provides day to day direction to the Companies in the Group, currently Chrispod Ltd, Chrispod Power Ghana Ltd, Chrispod Hospital and Diagnostics Centre, Chrispod UK Ltd and Chrispod Hotels & Suites Limited. These companies are in the Health, Agri business, Hospitality, Procurement and Energy sectors. He also deals in the supply and installation of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health under the auspices of the Government of Ghana. He is an astute businessman with a good history of success. The clientele base of his companies include, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ministry of Energy, Ashanti Gold just to mention a few.

The hospital is situated on 1,300 square meters of land at Dome in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. Key towns of the Ga East Municipality include Abokobi (capital), Kwabenya, Dome, Haatso, Papao, Westland, Taifa, Ashongman, Ashongman Estate, Atomic Hills Estate, Ablorh Adjei, Agbogba, Akporman, Boi, Sesemi and Adenkrebi.

Our hospital is a120-bed facility with separate wards for men, women and children. We have two fully equipped Operating Theatres, recovery rooms, labour rooms and a 15-bed newborn ward. Our In-Patient Department comprises nursing care, specialized wards and boasts excellent service.

ENT

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat or ENT) at Chrispod Hospital provides a full range of medical services for pediatric and adult patients with ear, nose and throat disorders and diseases, and also treats balance and dizziness disorders.

Opthalmology

We seek to offer comprehensive primary eye care including medical and surgical management for all types of conditions of the eye and surrounding structures - both routine and urgent. Our general evaluations screen and treat a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. Routine annual eye and vision exams, prescriptions for eyeglasses, and referrals for contact lens fittings are also offered. Patients who may require subspecialty ophthalmologic care are often referred after evaluation.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology

The Obstetrics and Gynecology department in Chrispod Hospital is s comprehensive department which specializes in investigation, diagnosis and treatment. The obstetrician deals with all aspects of pregnancy from pre-natal to post-natal care.

Our 24/7 Ambulance Service operates under the Emergency Service Council, which established the rules, regulations and operation guidelines for ambulance service providers. This service is provided in a swift, timely and safe manner for referral cases which demand transfer to a secondary health care center.

Mortuary is an important integral part of every hospital as it deals with the preservation of the dead body so that the forensic clinicians and pathologists may investigate the cause of death. At CHDC we operate 30-body capacity cold room with an Autopsy room where bodies may be viewed and identified by relatives and friends before they are preserved until burial can be arranged. We believe in the concept of “womb-to-tomb” health care that clearly indicates that in health care setup, part of a doctor's duty is not only caring for the living but also helping in the arrangement for disposal of those patients who die.

Radiology

The Computerized Tomography Perspective is based on a proven system platform that enables high-end imaging at extremely low doses. It can detect very small diagnostic details with its unique Interleaved Volume Reconstruction (IVR), expanding the scanner’s clinical applications to very reliable high-resolution imaging accuracy

Our diagnostic department offers an extensive range of cutting-edge BASDA radiology modalities. Image acquisition is handled by a team of expatriate and local radiologists while plans are advanced to secure interpretation services of U.S. or U.K. certified radiologists which makes turnaround time for diagnosis delivery a mere 3 hours, and under 1 hour in emergency cases.
